Latest News from Northwest Cherry Growers President BJ Thurlby:

Weather patterns this week were conducive to sweet cherry production. Daytime heat in the range of 85 degrees Fahrenheit and cool night temperatures as low as 50 degrees Fahrenheit helped keep these late-season Sweethearts on Stemilt Hill firm and sweet. Availability will extend over the next 2 weeks!

The best cherries of the season are being shipped out of the Northwest right now ... and it appears that we will ship another 1 million boxes this season! These late-season, high-elevation cherries are known for their sweet flavor and are typically larger in size. These varieties, including Lapins and Sweetheart (above), were unaffected by the early weather events and look excellent.

Promotional Suggestion: Take advantage of late season supplies this year with an August Northwest Cherry promotion! Contact your shipper to take advantage of this opportunity.
